Palliative care at home
Quality care in the comfort of your own home.
Quality care in the comfort of your own home.
In Belgium, in the private sector, all employees have the right to take leave to suspend their employment contract or reduce their benefits in order to provide palliative care to a person at the end of life, suffering from an incurable terminal illness. This person does not have to be a family member. During this break, you can receive a break allowance, paid by the ONEM. Similar entitlements also exist in the public sector.
Our Les P’tites Fées Bleues — Soins à domicile mobile teams are made up of around fifteen nurses.
Our palliative care team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We work closely with the patient's GP, hospital services and the specialist palliative care support team to provide the best possible care for the patient, not only by offering effective, personalised care (pain management, hygiene care, listening, etc.) but also by supporting the patient's family and friends, particularly at the time of bereavement.
Our care is based on respect for life and consideration of death as a natural step.
Our team of homecare nurses is active in the south of Brussels and in Walloon Brabant.
If you need a service outside these areas, please do not hesitate to contact us.
For emergencies, our on-call service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
