Palliative care at home

Quality care in the comfort of your own home.

Relieving pain and improving quality of life

Palliative care, or continuing care, is a specialised approach to relieving pain and managing symptoms in patients with serious, incurable or terminal illnesses.

Beyond the notion of care, the concept of palliative care is a multidisciplinary approach that focuses on improving the quality of life of patients and their families by accompanying, preventing and relieving physical, psychological, social or spiritual suffering.

Our approach

We work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop a personalised care plan tailored to the patient's individual needs. Our team of qualified healthcare professionals is trained to provide compassionate and respectful care, with an emphasis on pain relief, symptom management and emotional support.

Surrounded by family and friends, with quality care the patient can look forward to an end of life in the best possible conditions, at home. Palliative care takes place in a serene atmosphere with a dedicated (para)medical team. The palliative approach puts the patient at the centre and listens to him or her: it aims to add life to days rather than days to life.

Our mobile teams are made up of around fifteen nurses. Our palliative care team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We work actively with the patient's GP(s), hospital departments and the specialist palliative care support team to provide the best possible care for the patient, not only by offering effective, personalised care (pain management, hygiene care, listening, etc.) but also by supporting the patient's relatives, particularly at the time of bereavement. Our care is based on respect for life and consideration of death as a natural step.
